Artist Biography DIEGO BORMIDA was born in Acqui Terme, Alessandria ( ITALY) on 12th July, 1975. His residence is in Acqui Terme, but he lives in Rome. He obtained a Scientific Certificate from “ G. Parodi” High School in Acqui Terme and a Degree as Pictorial Decorator at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, presenting a thesis about the Psycology of the Perception. He attanded several complementary courses: Tecniques of Marble and Semi-precious Stones, Technology of the sculpture, Phenomenology of the contemporary Arts, Photography, Mass-media and History of the Architecture. He projected and realized gardens and furnishing works, took part to the Artistic Circle “ Mario Ferrrari” in Acqui Terme and made the following working experiences: 1995: “ Graffiti” decorations on the wall of a local gym in Acqui Terme. 1996: Partecipation to the Italian selestion of the “ First international Arts festival” of Malta 1996: Decoration of a whole passage of the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence: fake marbles and frames. 1997: Decoration in a “ Villa Medicea” Situated in Calenzano, Florence, with prof. Beppe del Debbio from the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence: wall cleaning, colours reproduction, recovery of old decors, fake marble and borders. 1998: Collaboration with prof. Beppe del Debbio decorating the private Chepel of Family Antinori in Bolgheri: trompe l’oeil, borders, fake marble. 1998: Wall decoration of the front of a residence in Acqui Terme. 1998: Partecipation to the Sculpture Exhibition organized by the Artistic Circle “ Mario Ferrari” in Acqui Terme: Dolphin in Green-Alps Marble a terracotta bust. 1999: Several works of painting and decoration for private. 2000: “ Regina” Hotel in Acqui Terme: three trompe l’oeil. Ex “ Mignon” Hotel in Acqui Terme: wall decoration of the front with fake windows and border. Restaurant “ Magna Roma” , Rome: wall decoration, fresco, fake marble and fake bronze. 2001: Collaboration with some shops realizing fake marbles and sculptures. Torracotta portrait from life of a girl. 2002: Restaurant “ La Cucopia” in Trastevere – Rome- : three trompe l’ oeil. Preparation of studies in terracotta and bronze for the realization of the portal of the church of “Cristo Redentore” in Acqui Terme. Studies from life of model for the decoration of a living room in Acqui Terme. Plan and realization of a discoteque near Rome. 2003: Inauguration of the portal of of the church of “Cristo Redentore” in Acqui Terme with official ceremony 2004/2006: Trompe l’oeils and decoration of many restaurants and bar. 2007: Partecipation in Cowparade in Milano ( sponsor: Baci a Abbracci) Realization of the decoration of a living room in Acqui Terme. Several months of work. A lot of works all around Italy.
2007-2008-2009 Diego is working for Fidelity Arts ( Beverly Hills) painting on board the best cruise ships in the world: Cunard and Princess Cruises.
